Please note that the prerequisite for this course is EN 312 Creative Writing or an equivalent transfer course. Since EN 412 is offered every other year, I sometimes make exceptions for Juniors and Seniors who have significant experience writing poetry, even if you haven't had a class in it. You will need to show me some of your poems and discuss your background with me before I will grant permission for you to add the course without the prerequisite. I may recommend that you take EN 312 next spring instead of Poetry Workshop, depending on the level of experience you have.

EN 415 Advanced Writing Workshop

Students who have already taken Poetry Writing Workshop once for credit can retake it as Advanced Writing Workshop. You will notice that our textbooks are different from the last time you took it, and there will be additional requirements, but both classes meet at the same time and use the same textbooks this semester.
